DEVLOG #8 THE BACKYARD!

It’s time for another update!

This time we want to share the other half of our cozy little clubhouse cove: The Backyard! This is where our little adventurers can choose their loadouts, craft gadgets, upgrade their flashlights, and blow off some steam against cardboard dummies!

No better place to take a deep breath of fresh autumn air! The ideal staging area to prep for some BEAST banishing.

Cardboard Combat!

Test your latest abilities, weapons, and attacks on these box beasts!

Even Benny will take some swings! But he does secretly wish Camila didn’t draw such convincing faces on them. He prefers to beat up “less intimidating” boxes.

The Tool Shed!

Watch out mom and dad! This is where the beast hunters hone their weapons. It may not look like much at first, but it houses a real KICK-ARSE ARSENAL!

Here we upgrade our flashlights, unlock powerful batteries, choose special charms with massive magical abilities, and even build traps and gadgets. I think Deacon was jealous of the softball turret at first, but now it’s his favorite tool to deploy! 

Once we’ve upgraded and chosen our favorite charms, it’s time to head out and take down some monsters. With a few batteries and pure childlike imagination, we are unstoppable. We love our little town.

Sure it might be full of deep dark terrors… but you can’t beat the view over Pennybrook.

It’s like the ol’ water tower says “Leaf your worries behind!”

Because even when we do lose, we can come back and prepare better for next time!
